So as to create children’s intrest in drawing the "Mandal started Matushri Jetbai Liladhar Kheraj Dedhia Chitrasala". The classes are conducted on every Saturday.

Mandal also organizes “On The Spot Drawing Competition” every year for children in four diffrent age groups, in which around 900 enthusiastic children take part. Special prize is given to handicapped children so as to motivate them and feel socialy secure, along with other winners.

To begin with Navratri celebration, Ras Garba Competetion, Musical Programmes & Lecture serieses were organised to make people active, united and become members of the Mandal.

At the same time the Mandal stared attending to public grievances and helped to resolve public complaints against administration by meeting and represanting them and even by organizing public protests. Thus members & workers got chance to come forward in public life through the Mandal in social & political field. Through the popularity of the Mandal & personal efforts of various members, Mr. Liladhar Pasoo Shah was elected MLA & M/S Nanalal D. Mehta & Ravjibhai Ganatra were honoured with Mayorship of Numeno Uno City of India i.e. Mumbai which was earlier known as Bombay.

With a view to serve the sick & old people taking treatment at home, Mandal has “MAVJAT DEPARTMENT” since the year 1940. We supply free of charge different equipements such as Beds (Plain & Hospital), Commode Chair, Wheel Chair, Water Bed, Air Bed, Bedpan, Urinpot, Walker, Walking Stick, Nebuliezer, Sunction Pump etc.

We are the only social organization which arranges three Gujarati Dramas every year for the more than 50 years at subsidised rates for general public with bus facilities free of charge for the return trip. The Mandal has not forgoten needs of artists & hence raised “Kalakar Rune Rahat Fund”. OWN BUILDING

The Mandal was fortunate enough to construct it’s own building for various activities this was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Bombay Shri Morarji Desai on 3-10-1957.

In the year 1958 ladies college affiliated to SNDT Univercity was establised in our building with 7 students. The same has grown to 7000 student which runs now in own building at Matunga with various faculties such as arts, commerce, home science, polytechnic etc.

For toddlers, we have “Smt. Prankuvar Umedchand Doshi Nursury & K. G. Classes” in which breakfast is served to all the kids. PATHYAPUSTAK - NOTEBOOKS School text books are given on 30% discount & even free of charge to needee students under “Smt. Kanchanben Panachand Doongarshi Turakhia Pathayapustak Yojana”. Exercise Notebooks are supllied at very concessanal rates to students of our area through “Shri Nanalal Dharamshi Notebook Yojana - courtsey Smt. Mrudulaben Atulchandra Doshi”.

Mandal also conducts Yoga & Aerobics classes in the evenings & Pranayam in the Mornings & evenings. Also in the afternoon time Yoga Classes are conducted especially for ladies .

Mandal takes the pride in conducting Inter School Cricket Tournament for under 15 years students recognised by “MUMBAI CRICKET ASSOCIATION (MCA)”. The tournament was inaugurated by Shri Vijay Marchant. The winning team is honoured with a Rotating Silver Trophy. Also other teams are conferred various prizes & certificates to our young Indians for their achivment. We are proud to mantion that players like Sachin Tendulkar & Vinod Kambli, during their budding careers had scored Triple centuries while playing our tournament. Our own team also plays the “Kanga League Knockout Tournament” & “Mahim Dadar Challenge Shield Cricket Tournament” as a recognised participant.

To encourage budding writers/poets we have "Sahitya Sangam" Vibhag which organizes lectures/recitals & question/answer session thereafter. A prize is also given to the participant for as asking the best question. This is also encouraging people to take part in such activity & create interest/attraction towards mother tongue. SUMMER VACATION

For senior citizens above 60 years we are arranging to issue ICards locally with co-ordination of DIGNITY FOUNDATION. These cards are authenticated by Government of Maharashtra.
